Group Classes

Make friends at the same time

Maximum group size?

Our group classes are small in nature (maximum of 6 online or 8 face-to-face) to facilitate communication and full participation.

Where?

Under normal circumstances, group classes are held in the Crathes Room, Administration Building, International School of Aberdeen, Pitfodels, Aberdeen.

Under Covid restrictions, all classes are held via Zoom.

Class focus?

Group classes have a strong speaking focus in accordance with the learning aspirations of most (if not all!) of our students. Students have the opportunity to learn and put into practice new vocabulary and grammatical structures they have studied, thereby growing in ability and confidence.

Why group class?

If you have studied a lot of grammar and vocabulary throughout the course of your studies and are looking for the opportunity to put it into practice and improve your speaking skills, the group classes would be an ideal place to start. As well as putting into practice your existing knowledge, you will learn new vocabulary, gain new grammatical insights, and improve your pronunciation. Importantly, you’ll also have the opportunity to make new friends! Our aim is to help you grow in ability and confidence and to have fun at the same time.

Days and Times

As at January 2021, we are currently running two group classes as below:

Pre-Intermediate (A2): Mondays 11.30am until 1.30pm

Upper Intermediate B2): Tuesdays 9.15am until 11.15am

Cost

£10.50 per hour / £21 per class

Students are invoiced monthly at the beginning of each new calendar month and can join at any time.

Private Classes

Meeting Individual Needs

One-to-one classes are entirely focused on the individual and are designed to cater for your specific needs.  Those looking to prepare for a job interview or preparing a job application, for example, may find these classes particularly helpful.  Alternatively, you may have acquired a working knowledge of grammar and would like to apply that learning, while building your confidence in speaking.  Whatever the motivation, these classes are designed to suit the learning needs and styles of the individual.

Both Julie and Sylvia teach private classes of every level from Beginner to Advanced and both General and Cambridge Exam English. We also offer Business English with our teacher Sylvia holding a Trinity College London Certificate in International Business English Training (IBET).

Our private classes tend to range from 1 hour to 2 hours with the average class being 1.5 hours in length.

As with our group classes, all our online classes are currently online.

  • Scheduled at a time and day convenient for the student and teacher

  • Tailored to suit the specific learning needs of the individual

  • General or Business English

  • Cambridge Exam preparation

  • No minimum commitment

  • £22.50 per hour, class fees payable at beginning of each calendar month
